Birmingham Botanical Gardens is Alabama's largest living museum with more than 10,000 different plants in its live collections. The Gardens' 67.5 acres contains more than 25+ unique gardens, 30+ works of original outdoor sculpture and miles of serene paths. The Gardens feature the largest public horticulture library in the U.S., conservatories, a wildflower garden, two rose gardens, the Southern Living garden, and Japanese Gardens. Docent-led tours will be available at 3:00, 3:30, and 4:00 p.m.

From the North: Take I-65S to exit 261A on the left to merge onto I-20E/I-59N. Go 1.2 miles. Take exit 126A for Caraway Blvd toward US 31S/US 280E. Go .6 miles. Merge onto US 31S/US 280E go 2.6 miles; exit on right for Mountain Brook. Go .3 miles; merge onto Cahaba Road. At traffic light turn left, and stay right, onto Lane Park. Entrance is second drive on left.

From South: Take I-65N to exit 250 for I-459N toward Atlanta. Go 4.1 miles; merge right and take exit 19 for US 280W toward Mountain Brook. Go .6 miles; turn left on US 280W. Go 4.2 miles. Take exit to Birmingham Zoo-Gardens. Merge onto Cahaba Road at traffic light. Turn left and stay right onto Lane Park. Entrance is second drive on left.

From the West: Take I-20E/I-59N to exit 126A for Caraway Blvd toward US 31S/US 280E. Go .6 miles. Merge onto US 31S/US 280E go 2.6 miles. Exit on right for Mountain Brook. Go .3 miles; merge onto Cahaba Road. At traffic light  turn left, and stay right, onto Lane Park. Entrance is second drive on left.

From the East: Take I-20W to exit 136 to merge onto I-459S toward Montgomery and Tuscaloosa. Take exit 19 on I-459S toward Mountain Brook, go 4.2 miles. Take exit to Birmingham Zoo-Gardens. Merge onto Cahaba Road at traffic light. Turn left, and stay right, onto Lane Park. Entrance is second drive on left.

From Birmingham Marriott: Turn right on US 280W. Cross I-459 toward Mountain Brook, then go 4.2 miles. Take exit to Birmingham Zoo-Gardens; merge onto Cahaba Road. At traffic light turn left, and stay right, onto Lane Park. Entrance is second drive on left.


Aldridge Garden Hoover, AL is a 30-acre woodland garden located in nearby Hoover. The Eddie Aldridges’ former estate features many hydrangeas, including the Snowflake Hydrangea, as well as exotic native plants. A walking path winds through developed gardens and pristine native forests while circumnavigating the lake. The grounds and home feature the largest publicly available collection of Frank Fleming's work. Docent-led tours will be available at 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.

From the North: Take I-65S toward Birmingham. Take exit 252 on I-65S toward Lorna Road. You will cross US 31S and go straight ahead up a small hill on Lorna Road. Continue 1.9 miles and cross over I-459. At the bottom of the hill the gardens will be on your left.

From the South: Take I-65N toward Birmingham. Take exit 247, Valleydale Road. At bottom of ramp turn right and go to US 31N. Turn right; proceed North to Lorna Road. Turn right and go .9 miles and gardens will be on your right.

From the West: Take I-20E/I-59N exit 106. Merge to I-459N. Take exit 13 on I-459N to merge onto US 31S. Go 1.0 miles then turn left on Lorna Road. Go .9 miles and gardens will be on your right.

From the East: Take I-459S to exit 13B to merge onto US 31N. Turn right at bottom of ramp and go to first traffic light. Turn right on Municipal Lane. Go .7 miles; turn right on Lorna Road. Cross over I-459 and at the bottom of the hill the gardens will be on your left.

From Birmingham Marriott: Turn right on US 280W and get in left lane to turn onto I-459S. Take I-459S to exit 13B to merge onto US 31N. Turn right at bottom of ramp and go to first traffic light. Turn right on Municipal Lane. Go .7 miles turn right on Lorna Road. Cross over I-459 and at the bottom of the hill the gardens will be on your left.
